Aaron Taylor-Johnson is reported to be the next James Bond, former James Bond Pierce Brosnan gave the Bullet Train actor a green check if he is going to be the next man to be known as the infamous British spy ‘Bond … James Bond’. Various speculations have been in the air since the last installment in the franchise released in 2021 starring none other than Daniel Craig.
Many actors have come forward to show their support for this rumor which hasn’t been confirmed by the creators but a former actor who played James Bond is really happy with this news and is all down for it.
Pierce Brosnan on Aaron Taylor-Johnson Being The Next 007
Pierce Brosnan who is known to be the fifth actor who portrayed James Bond in the film series from 1995 to 2002 has recently shared that he is more than convinced that Aaron is the right pick for this character.
Brosnan starred in 4 movies including GoldenEye (1995), Tomorrow Never Eyes (1997), The World is not Enough (1997), and Die Another Day (2002). He shared his thoughts about the report about Aaron being the next choice for ‘agent 007’ on RTE Radio 1’s ‘The Ray DA’rcy Show’. He said quote,
“I think the man has the chops and the talent and the charisma to play Bond, very much so,”
According to him, there is no other actor who is a perfect choice to play the British spy next in the franchise. Brosnan has worked with Aaron Taylor Johnson in the past and his experience with him is surely the main factor of him having belief in his fellow co-star’s potential.
“One of the first movies we made, one of the earliest movies, was ‘The Greatest,’ and he was the greatest in it. So, yes, I read the news about his possibilities of being a Bond, so I would definitely tip my hat to the fellow,”
But Pierce Brosnan is not the only former agent 007 who has given their blessings to Aaron Taylor Johnson. George Robert Lazenby, 83 who played the character of the infamous Agent 007 for MI6 back in 1969 in ‘On Her Majesty’s Secret Service’ has also come forward to wish the young actor all the best.
He advised him to bring his flare to the character like all the other previous Bonds did in the past.
He said Aaron is perfect as he can do all the stunt work by himself. There is no need to point this out because we all know what a good-looking man he is!
He stated, “Handle the stunts and all the ladies who love a man in a tux … as long as they do the character justice” he also gave guidance to him by staying true to himself and “reinvent the role to fit him”.
The ‘Kick-Ass’ Aaron Taylor Johnson
The race for this title has been going on for a long time, exactly after Daniel Craig departed from the franchise and since then, fans are more than excited to make a list of actors who are likely to be the next face in the franchise.
The list included the names of many A-listers like Idris Elba, Cillian Murphy, Tom Hardy, and Bridgerton fame Regé-Jean Page, Richard Madden, and many more. As the studio hasn’t given any confirmation yet it is highly likely that Aaron Taylor Johnson is our next James Bond!
Aaron Taylor Johnson has been in the acting business from a very young age but rose to prominence after Kick-Ass (2010) and Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015). Since then, he has been part of many projects including Tenet (2020), and David Leitch’s Bullet Train (2022). The actor is all set to make his comeback to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Kraven The Hunter.
